Rock Lake 2014 #isthattheeagle?

Guess who set the record for the most bacon eaten by a single family in one week? This gal. And her family.

Our annual trip to Rock Lake was awesome! Each day got progressively warmer, although it was never really hot until the day we had to leave. We ate pancake breakfasts, read books, shopped in Nisswa, watched movies, had Happy Hour on the boat, swam, tubed, waterskied, started campfires, started grease fires, played Cribbage, saw the eagle (or not), danced, played tag and had lots of family fun. Steve turned 62, Ellen was home from Holden Village, Charlie did not shave his chest for once, Liz out biked everyone, Jake cooked yummy meals, Nori had the time of her life, and Henny kept us all on our toes (she is sooo three) while I tried to take video of it all. Our water sports activity increased with the arrival of our wonderful friends and their boat, Big Black Daddy Thunder (wimp name Little Miss Magic). The highlight of the trip was when all the kids were tubing while we blasted the soundtrack from FROZEN. Can you even imagine a better childhood?! On our final night we celebrated Steve's birthday with some pranks including fake dog poo, a fake rock through a window, a whoopee cushion, and trick candles. The kids were sure to yell out "prank" every time, just in case he missed it.

For every moment in the sun there are five hours of packing, cooking, cleaning, and yelling, but it is so worth it. Until next year...
